About the School

Who We Are

Vimal Vidyalay Convent High School, Akalpur is owned and established by the Diocese of Jammu–Srinagar (Catholic Church of Jammu and Kashmir) and administered by its subsidiary wing, the Diocese of Jammu–Srinagar Education Society (Reg. No. 1601-S of 1989), under Article 30(1) of the Indian Constitution.

It is established primarily for the benefit of Christians and, in addition, for the benefit of others without any distinction of caste, creed or religion. The school caters especially to children from the least privileged sections of the farming communities in Akalpur and the surrounding villages.

Since 1992, the school has been administered by the Sisters of Notre Dame of Patna, who run it according to the Educational Vision and Principles of the Notre Dame Congregation, alongside the common policies of the Diocese.
